1. Tell us about the job
We begin with the postcode where the work is needed. Then we ask a short set of questions about the type of plumbing work, what is happening, when you would like it done and your approximate budget. You can choose “I’m not sure” for the budget.
Clear details help a plumber understand whether the job is suitable before getting in touch. You do not need to diagnose the fault yourself. Describe what you can see, hear or smell, when it started and anything you have already tried.
2. We look for plumbers
Once you review and submit the form, your job and contact details are passed to MyJobQuote, our quote partner, who look for suitable tradespeople covering your area. Availability depends on the job, location and the tradespeople active at that time, so we cannot promise that three people will respond.
We ask for your contact details near the end of the form. Before submitting, you will see a clear summary of what will be shared and who may contact you.
3. Compare and choose
Up to three tradespeople may contact you to discuss the job and provide a quote. Ask each person to confirm what is included, whether VAT and materials are covered, when the work could start and how long the price remains valid.
PlumbAgent does not choose a plumber for you and does not carry out the work. Check the trader’s identity, relevant qualifications, insurance and written terms before agreeing to proceed. There is no obligation to accept a quote.
An important safety note
PlumbAgent does not arrange emergency attendance. If water is close to electrical fittings, keep away from wet equipment and isolate the electricity only if you can do so safely.
If you smell gas, avoid flames and electrical switches. Call from outside: 0800 111 999 in England, Scotland or Wales, or 0800 002 001 in Northern Ireland.
If you suspect carbon monoxide poisoning, go outside and get medical help immediately. Call 999 if anyone is seriously unwell, having difficulty breathing, confused or unconscious. Read the gas and carbon-monoxide emergency advice. Do not use the quote form for an emergency.
